Jeanette Followwill, age 91 of Belmond, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026. She was born September 10, 1934 in Manly, Iowa, the daughter of Irving and Anna (Kaiser) Meyer. Jeanette attended North Iowa Teacher’s College pursuing elementary education. Jeanette met Milton L. Followwill (Pete) in Belmond, Iowa and the two were married in 1956. Together they closed the Clear Lake Surf Ballroom dance floor down many a weekend.

Heinz Schmid, 80, of Belmond, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Belmond United Methodist Church, 1031 1st Street Southeast in Belmond.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane South in Belmond.

Neal A. Rabe, 76, of Belmond, IA, passed away peacefully at his home in Belmond, IA, on January 7, 2026. A public funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 304 3rd Ave. N.E., Belmond, IA. The Reverend Katie Pals will be officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery.

Linda J. Pals, age 79, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Heartland Evangelical Free Church in Annandale with Pastor Denny Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Joyce A. Eriksen, 68, of Clarion, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.
